The technology

What's behind a hive that notifies you on its own.

No magic. The hive observes, understands on site and sends you only what matters. Below, how it really works, step by step and without the jargon.

How it works

From the hive to your screen, in four steps.

The hive observes and understands on site, sends the essentials via a radio link to a small collection point not far away, and from there the information reaches your screen.

𓆤 Stage 01

The hive observes and understands

It senses the colony from several sides and draws its conclusions on site.

only the essentials
Stage 02

A radio link

It carries a little information at a time, but reaches far.

few, the right ones
Stage 03

A collection point

A small node not far away gathers and forwards.

Stage 04

On your screen

All already read and in plain terms, wherever you are.

no cables along the path · only the essential travels
The intelligence lives on the hive

It doesn't send everything it hears. It sends the conclusion.

Think of the colony's sound. The hive doesn't send the recording: it listens on site and sends you only the meaning. It's well, it's restless, it's about to swarm.

The reason is simple. The link carries very little information at a time, so it's better to send the answer, not the raw data.

the recording doesn't travel · the answer does
A long-range link

It reaches far, consuming very little.

A radio designed to go far on a trickle of energy. It carries little information at a time, and that's exactly what's needed. It even reaches an isolated apiary, a few kilometres from where there's power and a connection.

And it grows with you: the same system handles a single hive or a whole apiary.

Energy that doesn't run out

The sun powers it. The rest is done by rest.

A panel gathers the sun, a sturdy battery keeps it running even in the heat and the frost. The system rests when it can and wakes only to measure.

So it needs very little energy, and it works where the mains doesn't reach.

The hive's senses

How it perceives, without disturbing.

Six ways of sensing the colony, gentle and continuous. It's not what it tells you, but the way it comes to know it.

Weight

How much the hive weighs, moment by moment.

The nest climate

Warmth and humidity inside the home, where the brood lives.

The climate outside

Weather and light around the apiary, to give context.

The colony's sound

The voice of the hive, listened to continuously.

Movement at the entrance

The coming and going of the bees in and out.

Security signals

Movements, tip-overs, lid lifted.

Built to live inside a hive

Made to endure, designed not to disturb.

Inside a hive is not a comfortable place for electronics: humidity, condensation, propolis, seasonal swings. Everything is designed to withstand the real environment, year after year.

And to fit in with minimal bulk, without getting in the way of the bees and their work.

A system built in layers

The solid things first. The more complex ones, last.

We build one piece at a time: first the essential, reliable functions, then the more delicate additions, only when they stand on their own. No shortcuts.
